Soundtrack: We Love the Pirates and Dusty Springfield "Ultimate Collection"
So work has been almost all-consuming. So what else is new? I have a new, wonderful colleague, in lieu of my old wonderful colleague who left for new horizons. I have been digging reading Robert Silverberg's "Downward to the Earth", a tale of pilgrimage and redemption with echoes of Conrad, but set on a world faraway from our own. Thanks to Tom at Other Change of Hobbit, I've also acquired a very reasonably priced first edition of Silverberg's "Dying Inside", which I'll be ready to begin after I finish the last ninety pages of my current read. I'm guessing that I'll have to dig out a few more of his titles from the bookshelves.
Yesterday, I had grand expectations for a spur of the moment shopping trip to the City. When I arrived over at Ninth Street, I discovered that my favourite makeup emporium, Kryolan, was only open on weekends on the first Saturday of the month. Why didn't I know that? I decided to walk over to Isotope over on Fell. Too early! They didn't open until eleven. Comic book shopping would have to wait! How about body care products? My new co-worker has raved about the quality of Lush's products. I now see why. I went to their store on Powell Street and went a little, just a little, overboard. I tried the Jasmine scented shower bar this morning. And the body cream. All I can tell you is that it's really good stuff. Feels good. Smells good. Yum.
