There was this bizarre tale in Thursday's Examiner regarding one of my personal favs, Germaine Greer.
And then this right on! editorial in the same edition regarding Phil Knight and how he can't buy no respect! Sorry Phil!

First, Syreeta lent me some Ella...then D. contributed Dinah. Nothin' but gifts for the ears!

Buried under work today and tomorrow. Yikes!!!!
Visit Web Queeries for links to GLBT sites or amuse yourself with a visit to the divine Hedda Lettuce...
... or go get some cool tunes at Mod Lang conveniently located in beautiful downtown Berkeley.

Started reading Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit last night after a book trolling expedition to Cody's on Telegraph.
Also picked up some books by Carl Jung, inspired by the reference in
the latest Alamut.
My friend Drew has updated his web pages. I'm especially interested
his plans to measure his viewers appreciation or annoyance...
I have to find some time to shop for shoes at Nordstrom!
Have I mentioned QubeQuorner? I usually find something of interest
there.
21 - 23 April 2000
The latest offering from Alamut makes an interesting read.
While waiting for Sandra's magic to work on my hair, I happened to
read an article about Napster in the May 2000 Spin. Now I understand why Lincoln Stein is
so interested
in Napster technology. Unfortunately, Spin doesn't seem to
have the article on-line. Boo!
Here's a Google search on Napster.

Welllll....California is still lagging behind Vermont!
DIAC-2000: Shaping the Network Society will be in
Seattle, May 20-23. I want to go! It's sponsored by Computer Professionals
for Social Responsibility.
I did two searches this morning on community networks. One on the open
directory project, the other on google.
The new NetFuture is up.
Steve Talbott of NetFuture
will be in speaking at the PLANETWORK
conference in San Francisco this May. It looks interesting. I want to
go to this one too!

My morning google search was on
homelessness in the Bay Area.
Got my 4 mile walk in this morning. Okay. Not so cranky now!
The moon was wondrous this morning. I couldn't help thinking about one
of the first sci-fi novels I read, A
Fall of Moondust, by Arthur C. Clarke.
A google search
on
transgender in the workplace.
One of the better novels I read last year was
Headlong, a sci-fi crime novel set a bit later on in the 21st Century,
written by Simon Ings.

Thanks to Bill at Mermaniac for the link. Your site is one
of my favourites.
I've been reading Lingua ex Machina by William Calvin and Derek
Bickerton.
From GeneHack, a link to Wired showing a wonderful example of a
possible conversion
of
function not unlike those that Calvin and Bickerton write about in regards to language
evolution.
Before 17 April 2000
Hmmmmm....talk about
strange bed fellows!
I've never wanted to change myself
to conform to bigots, says
transgender warrior Lesile Feinberg in
TransLiberation. Wish I could say that!
From gay.com an interesting article about the
labels we give...and take.
Bummer! A recent study shows that
violence against
gay, lesbian and transgender people is on the rise. Transgender folks
are particularly vulnerable to attack...
On a more enlightened note, Monika Treut's Gendernauts has
opened in San Francisco. Thanks Drew, for seeing it with me.
I'm glad that All About My Mother is still playing.
I've seen it twice now and I'm ready to go again!
Please give your support to the Gay and Lesbian
Historical Society of Northern California!
