orange memories

Soundtrack: Carryin' On With Johnny Cash & June Carter

I am just about done with Tim Guest's fascinating memoir of growing up the son of parents involved with the late guru, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. Reading it has flushed out memories of the late seventies, early eighties, when I had one co-worker who was a Rajneesh follower (and yet another who swore by Werner Erhart's EST). It has also reminded me of that time in the early eighties when the Rajneesh folks were getting homeless people to move up to their ranch in Oregon (we had some clients who were so enticed).

My own memories aside, "My Life in Orange" looks at what happens to the child, while the parentals are busy getting blissed out, and is well worth a read.

news from the o drat department

Soundtrack: Carryin' On With Johnny Cash & June Carter

One of my favourite co-workers is seeking employment elsewhere. Since I'm her supervisor, I'm the one the potential new employer is calling for a reference. I'm certain she'll get the job, as I'm duty bound to give her a gushing recommendation (she deserves no less), but o drat, o darn, o damn!
